Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is one of the most diagnosed mental disorders in children. In the United States, more than five million children between the ages of four and seventeen years old have been diagnosed with ADHD, with boys diagnosed at more than twice the rate of girls. However, many adults miss being diagnosed as children and are surprised when their doctor or counselor suggests that they, too, might have ADHD.
