In my practice, I will serve any individual in need, regardless of faith or beliefs, and will seek to love and help you with whatever need you have.

I offer professional, compassionate counseling for children, teens, adult individuals, couples, families, and groups. I understand that the journey to healing can be a difficult one, but you do not need to travel it alone. As your counselor I will come alongside you with the unconditional love of God and without any judgment. Whether you’re looking for support for anxiety, depression, trauma or PTSD, anger issues, co-dependency, infidelity, or relationship problems, or other concerns, I would be honored to navigate the trail with you as we walk together toward the positive, lasting changes you desire.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

One of my goals as your counselor is to help you find peace within yourself through the discovery of your intrinsic motivations. My aim is for us to find tools to help you be set free from the pain and suffering you have endured. In addition, my hope is that through our time together, as you journey with the Lord you will be able to align yourself to become who He made you to be, and ultimately, with His help to change our world for good.

I will base each session on your unique needs at that time, trusting that the Lord will guide our interactions as we work toward your growth and improving your inner well-being. As a Christian practitioner, I am privileged to be a tool in the hands of the Lord to shine His light on those in need. My hope is that through my faith, the Lord will lead you to the change you specifically need or desire. One benefit of a Christian approach to counseling is that I offer a space for my clients to feel welcomed without any judgment. I will care deeply for your inner thoughts and desires and seek to love you unconditionally as an individual made in God’s image.

Biography

Qualifications & Experience

I have a BA in Psychology and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Eastern Washington University (EWU). I also have a background in chemical dependency with numerous years of training and supporting individuals to develop a life they desired. In addition, I am a certified Independent Living Specialist (ILS).

My Call to Christian Counseling

I believe God called me to become a counselor, as He has built me to help others. It is the role He has gifted me in and the person I was made to become. I am privileged and honored to be able to do God’s work for a living.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

As a father, all of my activities seem to revolve around my kids. We enjoy the outdoors in all areas of adventure and fun, such as bicycling, motorcycling, hiking, water/snow skiing along with boating and fishing. We also enjoy traveling around Washington State and other areas we can enjoy as a family. I do enjoy reading, watching shows on history, and other interests of the mind, body, and soul.

Anxiety

As your counselor, I bring knowledge from an extensive education and experience along with wisdom to listen to you and your story without judgment, assumptions, or conclusions about your experience. I will work alongside you with your best interests in mind. In our time together, I will listen and lead you through your strengths and limitations to help you build a consistent relationship with yourself in your journey of life. With guidance, balance, and therapeutic knowledge, I will always help you and when appropriate give you space to process as necessary. I specialize in counseling for teens and adults, and I look forward to hearing your story and watching the Lord work in your life.

Depression

If you’re struggling with symptoms of depression, I would be honored to help you discover practical tools and techniques to improve your symptoms and find the light again. My job is to help people like you heal their lives, relationships, and families. With over 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families to find happiness in their lives, I offer empathy, a listening ear, and a healthy dose of wisdom from our Lord. I work quickly and don’t waste time getting down to the business of healing people of all ages, backgrounds, genders, relationships, and cultures who are struggling with depression and other concerns.

Family Counseling

Family is my passion. I am the father of three amazing individuals and the Lord has helped me to support and guide my family. Today I give back to those in need with family issues. With over 25 years of counseling experience as well as personal experience working through my own family success, I will help guide your family in all areas of concern. I have a great deal of empathy and knowledge about personal suffering, misguided emotions, hate, forgiveness, and so much more. My hope for you is that through our sessions together, you will find relief from the struggles you’re experiencing and reach the goals you’ve set for yourself. As human beings in a difficult world, we are guaranteed to endure struggles in some form or another – but we do not need to struggle alone or indefinitely, as Jesus came to share. Through God’s Word and a biblical perspective, we can work together to find answers, understanding, healing, and strength in our Lord.

Individual Counseling

I am a solution-focused therapist who will also focus individually on your specific needs on your journey of well-being. As a Christian counselor, my primary goal to is assist you in cultivating your sense of self and strengthening your relationship with yourself and with Jesus, allowing you to truly know God. I will take the time to listen to your concerns and work with you to identify emotions, past traumas, and negative thinking patterns that may be hindering you from living your best life. I have faith that together we can create a plan for generating a lifestyle that allows you to experience your full potential and to live a life of improved happiness and a greater outlook on your overall wellbeing.

Relationship Issues

I have a deep passion for helping individuals learn what the Lord wants for us in the journey of relationships. Counseling is the first step and takes a measure of courage and vulnerability to become the best versions of the people you to become as a couple or in a relationship. As your counselor, I will listen to each individual and then provide the best evidence-based information to align with your beliefs and values in order to grow a beautiful relationship. Together we will work to build on your strengths to move your relationship in a positive direction. I work with teen and adult individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of relationship issues and would consider it a great privilege to serve as your counselor.

Payment and Forms

In my practice I use a variety of therapeutic methods depending on each client’s needs, including but not limited to Psychoanalysis/Psychodynamic Theory, Behavioral Theory,

Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Humanistic Approach, Holistic/Integrative Therapy, and many more.

Sessions: I offer 53-minute sessions. Sessions can be held more than once per week, weekly, or every other week. Scheduling options are discussed in greater detail during your Risk-Free Initial Session.

Availability (by office location):

  • Spokane – Tuesday,  Thursday, & Friday
  • Spokane Valley  – Wednesday & Thursday

Fees: I offer a Risk-Free Initial Session for individuals, couples, and groups looking to pursue counseling with me. Please note that there is a fee for the Risk-Free Initial Session as it is a clinical hour and reimbursable to most insurance companies, but if you choose not to reschedule and continue therapy after the initial session the entire fee for the session will be waived. For ongoing treatment the full fee per session is required at the time of service.

Insurance: As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA), some insurance companies will reimburse for a portion of my services (as an Out of Network Provider). Please consult with your insurance provider as to whether they specifically cover adolescents, individuals and couples.

Receipts/Statements: In the event you require a printed or digital receipt, I will provide receipts for personal use, insurance reimbursement, Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).

Payment options: Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express). A fee of up to 4% per transaction will be added for credit card payments.
