Pursuing therapy is a courageous act of self-love and is a decision that will not return void. There are many reasons that an individual would seek counseling, and all are valid. With compassion and patience, I will walk with you toward healing and growth. Whether you’re looking for counseling for teens, adult individuals, or families, it would be my honor to help you meet your personal, relational, and spiritual goals with God’s help. No matter what you’re going through—anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, anger issues, trauma, or other concerns, I offer a safe place for you to overcome the challenges you face as we rely on the Lord’s strength and grace together.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal as your counselor is to provide a warm, comfortable, and safe space for you to process the many challenges of life. I hope that through counseling you will grow in understanding of who you are and increase self-awareness regarding your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a self-compassionate way. I believe that doing one’s own work and pursuing inward healing not only transforms the individual but also those around them and their situations.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a peaceful, nonjudgmental environment. From the very first session, I hope that you feel welcomed and heard. It is a courageous and difficult step to seek growth and healing, and I want you to know that getting into the rhythm of therapy and seeing change takes time. The counselor-client relationship is extremely important, so I often ask for feedback and am open to changing my approach if something isn’t working. I am not directive in my approach to therapy, meaning I typically rely on my clients to bring what they wish to discuss and work on. I will help guide and prompt as needed and requested, but I believe each client knows best as to what to focus on from session to session.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
Each person has complete access to God’s gift of transformational grace. It is by this grace that we receive from our Wonderful Counselor true, lasting, and powerful transformation. The Lord knows every person intimately, far greater than we even know ourselves. In my practice, I lean heavily on the Holy Spirit to guide the session and am continually in prayer for the Spirit to move and bring healing. This is done implicitly in personal prayer. I allow my clients to determine to what extent faith and spirituality is incorporated in the session in an explicit manner, as I want to respect everyone in their personal walk with God. When I have my client’s permission to include prayer and biblical truths in the session, I have seen incredibly powerful moments take place as the Lord’s truth is revealed and experienced.
